THE SPECTACLE OF BANDS PARADE

NEW PARADE ROUTE FOR 2008

Due to safety concerns, the New Holland Borough Council has changed the parade route.  The new route will form at the New Holland Park, proceed west on Jackson Street to Custer Avenue, North on Custer to Broad Street, east on Broad to Railroad Avenue, south on Railroad to Main Street, east on Main to Kinzer Avenue, south on Kinzer to the park and disperse.

7:00 PM SHARP

You are invited to participate in our annual parade in conjunction with our Farmer’s Fair by entering a float or marching group.  No entry fee.  Deadline for registering is September 1, 2008.

NO RAIN DATE FOR PARADE

RESTRICTIONS

1. The parade is a continuous moving event with no pausing at any of the judging areas en route through the parade route.

2. No animals are allowed to pull any floats or vehicles without written permission of the parade chairman.  No hot rods, minibikes, or hot cycles.

3. Handouts at curbside to spectators are permitted.  Throwing is not permitted.

4. No commercial trucks allowed to participate unless they are a flat bed type used for float purposes.

5. Band sponsors are allowed one commercial vehicle to follow or precede the unit their firm is sponsoring.

6. Trophies given for:  Best Music, Best Marching, Best Band Front in Classes A, B & C, Overall Winner, Best Twirler, Best Drum Major, and Best Musical Unit.
