53rd Annual Firemans Tug-of-War
The 53rd Annual Firemans Tug-of-War kicks off on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 8 pm. The winners will compete for the championship on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 8 pm. Awards are made after the contest Saturday night. The event is held on East Franklin Street rain or shine.

Teams Must Pre Register

AWARDS ARE MADE AFTER THE CONTEST SATURDAY NIGHT, RAIN OR SHINE. ALL CONTESTS WILL BE HELD REGARDLESS OF CONDITIONS.

The 2016 winners were:
1st Place - Intercourse in a pull off
2nd Place - Weaverland Valley Team #1
3rd Place - Whitehorse
4th Place - Farmersville

PRIZES
1st - $500 and trophy and individual member plaques
2nd - $400 and trophy
3rd - $300 and trophy
4th - $200 and trophy

Competition will begin at 8pm sharp on both nights. All teams are to report to the weigh-in scales located at the corner of South Railroad Avenue and Grant Street between 7 and 7:30pm. Roll call will be taken Saturday night at the same time and location. Tardiness can result in the forfeiture of a pull.

RULES

Maximum weight of 1950 pounds. Any team over this weight must regroup.
Maximum of ten men on each team, plus a Captain.
A complete roster must be submitted by the first night of the pull.
All persons pulling must wear regulation firefighting boots.
Gloves are optional.
Teams will be weighed on the 1st night (maximum weight - 1950 pounds).
Roll call will be taken on the remaining night(s) from 7pm to 7:30pm.
The line judge or judge's decision will be final.
The heaviest team will pull west.
Each team may have one substitute. Substitute must be on the roster the first night and must be a lighter weight than anyone he replaces.
